Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to access your data, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to its processing and to data portability. You can withdraw any consent at any time with effect for the future. You can also complain to a data protection supervisory authority.

Visiting this website

When you open a page, technical information such as browser type and operating system is processed so the page can be delivered and the website stays secure. We do not use it to identify you.

Contact form

Our contact form uses the form service of Seite bereit, which works for us as a processor. Your details (name, email address, your company if you give it, your topic and your message) are sent to us by email and stored encrypted in a database in Frankfurt am Main, so no message gets lost. You receive a confirmation email. Emails are sent via Postmark (ActiveCampaign, LLC, USA). Transfers to the USA are covered by the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and standard contractual clauses. Spam protection checks a hidden field and the time it took to send the form, without cookies. We only use your details to answer your message. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR. Stored details are deleted after one year at the latest.

Audience measurement

We measure use of the website without cookies and without storing anything on your device: which pages are opened, the referring website (domain only), campaign details in the address, a rough device type, the country and approximate location, and whether a form was started (not its content). Your IP address and browser identifier are processed only briefly in memory to create a value that changes daily and cannot be reversed. They are not stored. Seite bereit runs the measurement as our processor. Hosting is with Vercel Inc., USA (standard contractual clauses), the data sits in a database in the EU. Individual page views are deleted after 30 days. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. You can object under Art. 21 GDPR.

Ideas and wishes

On our ideas board you can suggest ideas, report bugs and vote. We store the title and description, your name if you want it shown, and your email address if you give it. The email address is never shown, is stored encrypted and is only used for questions about your entry and, if you wish, to tell you when it is done. Voting uses no cookies. To prevent double votes we create a value from your IP address and browser identifier that changes daily and cannot be reversed. Your browser remembers locally what you voted for. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(a) and (f) GDPR. Seite bereit runs the board as our processor. All details are in the German version.

Language choice (cookie “sprache”)

If you pick a language in the language switcher, we store your choice in a cookie called “sprache” on your device. It only contains the language code, for example “de” or “en”, and is not used for statistics or advertising. It stops us from redirecting you to another language version when you next open the home page. It is deleted after one year, and you can delete it in your browser at any time. As long as you have not picked a language, we redirect visits to the home page based on your browser's language setting or, if your browser sends none, on the country that our hosting provider Vercel derives from your IP address. We store nothing for this. Legal basis: § 25(2) no. 2 TDDDG for the cookie and Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR for the processing.
