For HR and People teams

Team building that doesn’t feel like team building.

An office league brings people to one table every week who otherwise only know each other from meetings. No budget, no IT project, no mandatory slot.

What a league does for your team

No agenda, no facilitator. The foosball table is already there; packeroo makes sure it gets used.

  • Teams get mixed

packeroo draws teams from everyone who is checked in. Intern and head of department on one team, sales against engineering.

  • New starters settle in fast

New colleagues get the invite link and are in once their request is approved. One match in week one beats many an introduction round.

  • Voluntary, no pressure

Nobody has to play. Random teams mix experienced players and beginners, so it is not always the same people who win.

  • No effort for HR

packeroo keeps the league table and the seasons by itself. You give the starting signal, the team does the rest.

Three occasions you already have a plan for

The league runs day to day. For special days it is your ready-made format.

Onboarding week

The invite link arrives with the laptop. The first match is the best icebreaker, and by Friday the new hire knows five more people.

Summer party or Christmas party

Enter the players, generate the schedule, print it. Round robin or knockout, ready for the afternoon.

Season finale

At the end of the season the standings are final. A good reason for a small award ceremony in the team meeting.

Your concerns, honestly answered

Does this create pressure to perform?

The league table is a game, not a ranking for performance reviews. Random teams make sure it is not always the same people who win. Anyone who does not play does not show up anywhere.

Will people who don’t play feel left out?

Taking part is voluntary, and beginners are explicitly welcome. Many come along to watch first and join in after a few weeks.

How much time does it take?

A match fits into a coffee break. You enter the score on your phone in seconds.

What will the works council say?

For the discussion we have suggested wording: “Taking part in the foosball league is voluntary. Nobody who does not play is at a disadvantage. Results and stats are only used for the game and not to monitor performance or behaviour.” More on privacy and works councils

And data protection?

An account only needs an email address, no payment details. The servers are in Germany, and you can export or delete your data at any time.
